Kwik Kopy Norwood has taken out the gold medal in the South Australian Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (PICAs), in the booklets, catalogues and magazines, saddle stitch category. The PICAs are a tangible demonstration of the exceptional capability within the printing industry, and achieving a medal at the PICAs reflects that the entry is at the top echelon of performance within the state.

Kwik Kopy Norwood’s winning entry was a booklet for the South Australia National Football League (SANFL). The book was designed and formatted from scratch by the team at Norwood. The brief was broad which allowed the scope to conceptualise ideas giving free range to be creative and present a point of difference. It allowed the design and production team to showcase their professionalism and creativeness and then to source new paper stocks – in this case, using the ‘Black Curious Skin’ product from Ball/Doggetts and to test the White Ink capability on the NEW Ricoh Pro CX 7100 machine to produce this booklet.

Shane Skinner and Phil Smith, Owners of Kwik Kopy Norwood, have won a number of PICAs in the past. The last state-based awards were held in 2013, and in that year Norwood took home bronze, silver and gold awards. Smith says “It’s always great to be involved with the PICAs, and to come back and take out the gold medal is an amazing recognition of all our hard work”.
