Redesign your businessSeven-year old Pokolbin business, Hanging Tree Wines, has overcome strong competition and emerged the winner of Kwik Kopy’s Redesign Competition – receiving a corporate redesign package worth $10,000 from the print and design expert and a much-needed boost to the overall business.

Following a challenging year for the wine industry in general in Australia, Hanging Tree Wines found themselves in rebuild mode and won over Kwik Kopy judges with their understanding of how design and an overall image overhaul could impact the next phase of their business’s growth.

The Kwik Kopy Redesign Competition saw over 130 small-to-medium sized businesses enter and explain in 100 words or less how their business would benefit from a corporate redesign and the opportunities it could bring.

Entries were judged on Wednesday 20 October 2010 by a panel of experts consisting of David Bell (Managing Director, Kwik Kopy Australia), James Slack (Group Marketing Manager, Thomas & Coffey Limited) and Geoffrey Patterson (Business Development Consultant, Kwik Kopy Australia).

Announcing the winner of the Redesign Competition, Managing Director of Kwik Kopy, David Bell said, “Through our vast experience working with thousands of businesses around Australia, Kwik Kopy has witnessed the immediate cut through that enterprises of any size can achieve when they refresh their image.”

“From the many entries we received, Hanging Tree Wines saw and best understood the important role design plays in the overall success of a business and its ability to shape customers’ perception of you over your rivals.”

“We’re excited to work with the team at Hanging Tree Wines to help them reach the next level with a new brand identity and look forward to an ongoing and flourishing partnership with the company for many years to come.”

On winning the Redesign Competition, Marketing Manager for Hanging Tree Wines, Emily Perrett said, “We are so incredibly excited to have won this competition! It’s been a tough 18 months for the wine industry and as a business have been looking for that extra something to help kick-start our operations and get us on the front foot with customers again.”

“In terms of what we will do with the redesign package, the world is our oyster! We have a healthy pipeline over the next 24 months – which includes everything from new SKUs to re-engaging with our ever-expanding database – and look forward to exploring the multiple opportunities at our disposal with the team from Kwik Kopy.”

Hanging Tree Wines will receive professional and skilled design counsel from Kwik Kopy and then undergo an image redesign process that is tailored to their business – in turn, helping them achieve a competitive ‘edge’ through design.

Finley meat producer and runner-up Bimbella Beef will receive $5,000 worth of design courtesy of Kwik Kopy.

On being named runner-up in the Kwik Kopy Redesign Competition, owner and manager of Bimbella Beef, Joe Weir said, “This prize will prove invaluable to taking our business to the next level! Up until now all of our design and printing has been done in-house, so we’re looking forward to having professional and worthy marketing materials at our disposal to help give our customers more of a feel for the Bimbella Beef business.”
