The 2013 Kwik Kopy Hands Classic charity bike ride takes place between Sunday, 10th March and Friday, 15th March to raise money for the charity Hands Across the Water.

This is the second year in a row that Kwik Kopy Australia has partnered with Hands Across the Water as major sponsor of the event.  Last year’s inaugural ride raised over $125,000 and enabled Hands to move forward with completing renovations on a facility set up to house children rescued from the sex industry and have been trafficked beyond their control.

This year, a group of 10 intrepid riders aim to raise an additional $50,000 to support fundraising efforts.   This will allow Hands Across the Water to continue its work to support children who are rescued from enforced prostitution in addition to being able to respond to other people in desperate need.

Starting in Canberra, the six day bike ride will see riders undertake an enormous challenge as they head to the NSW Snowies and include a ride to the top of Mt Kosciusko Australia’s highest peak at 2200 metres above sea level.

**Day 4 offers a trip highlight for the intrepid team with a morning ride up to Charlottes Pass via Perisher including some long climbs to Perisher and open up into some stunning high country mountain scenery on very good roads with no cars.   At Charlotte’s Pass the group will swap their road bikes for Mountain Bikes to head up a gravel track up to the head waters of the mighty Snowy River , past Seaman’s Hut and up onto Kosciusko itself.  After reaching the summit they turn around for an exhilarating rush down the hill and back to Jindabyne.
