Kwik Kopy’s ‘Bringing your ideas to life’ competition was launched in October 2013, and invited small businesses to submit an entry explaining in 100 words or less why their company needed a new website. Five websites were up for grabs with each prize package valued at $10,000. More than 500 entries were received in total, with 50 finalists reviewed by a panel of internal and external experts.
NSW Winner – The Grey Duckling
Loretta, founder of The Grey Duckling, has over 30 years of experience in the food industry, hospitality and event management. Her deep love of food inspired her to break away and start up The Grey Duckling, allowing her to work for herself with local producers using local foods. Since then, she has built strong relationships with a number of Australian organic, vegetarian and vegan distributors which ensures access to fresh and natural produce.
After the bushfires hit the Blue Mountains in NSW in late 2013, the specialist event planners lost 80% of their clientele. Loretta was looking for printing when she found the ‘Bringing your ideas to life’ competition’ and felt that a new website could help the company find new clientele as well as share its many recipes and ideas with the local community.
Kwik Kopy built the new website with an easy to use content management system (CMS), providing full training to allow Loretta to easily update upcoming events and add new items to her shop. Ongoing support and training was also provided.
To assist in growing The Grey Duckling’s customer database, Kwik Kopy added a newsletter sign-up feature to allow customers to stay up-to-date with the latest news. Kwik Kopy also assisted in creating a free eBook (a collection of vegetarian and vegan recipes) for customers as an incentive to subscribe.

Jason Simaitis – Owner, Kwik Kopy Penrith
We have built a strong relationship with Loretta, getting to know what The Grey Duckling is all about. In the process of creating the website, we helped Loretta refine her business ideas and articulate exactly how she wanted her business to be portrayed online.
Myself and the rest of the Kwik Kopy team now have a good understanding of the business, which helps when working on both printing and website design.
