BannerA banner can be a powerful way to build brand awareness and is an excellent way to promote your business. But like any good investment, great vinyl banners needs a little TLC and maintenance to keep them performing at its very best. Follow these tips to help extend the life of your company banner…

3 Ways to Keep Your Vinyl Banners Looking Good

1. Installation

If you want your banner to be a long term signage solution for your business, the first thing you need to do is make sure it’s installed correctly. If you’re hanging your banner between poles, your goal should be to make sure the weight of the banner is divided equally between the grommets at each end. Tie the banner with bungee cord instead of rope to reduce the tension on the banner itself and if you’re in a high wind area, make sure you cut wind slits into the banner to reduce strain.

2. Cleaning

Your vinyl banner will need to be cleaned regularly, particularly if it is in an outdoor location. Remember, the surface of your banner may be damaged if you use a harsh cleaner that contains bleach or ammonia. A spray bottle filled with warm water and dishwashing liquid will suffice. Spray the mixture onto the banner and use a soft cloth to wipe away any dust or debris. Remember to thoroughly remove any soap residue, or your sign may become dull over time.

3. Storage

If your signage is seasonal or used intermittently make sure you store it correctly between uses. Ensure that the banner is clean and completely dry before storing. Roll the banner neatly (never fold!) and store it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
