Paper stock choices
A range of paper stocks is available to make the most of your print job. Understanding the following and making the most appropriate choice may increase the impact of your print job.
Coated
Made with a surface coating, this paper is available in a range of finishes from dull to gloss. The coating allows for maximum smoothness and ink holdout in the printing process.
Digital
Unlike traditional offset printing, the digital printing environment is centred on quick turnarounds, short runs, and the ability to vary printed information within the run. For the best results, use papers designed for this specific process.
Flecked, Flocked and Fibred
Coloured cotton and/or rayon fibres are added to the paper stock to create the decorative look of hand-made paper. Other additives include jute fibres, and coloured bits of paper stock.
Laser
Very smooth, low-moisture papers are manufactured in cut sizes for laser printers and office duplicating equipment. Low moisture prevents paper curling from the high heat in laser printers.
Recycled Paper
This is paper which meets minimum reclaimed content standards established by federal, state and municipal governments, and the paper industry. Fibre content usually consists of post-consumer and pre-consumer reclaimed fibre, as well as virgin pulp.
