Making sense of green standards and labels
Paper which, partly or wholly, is manufactured from recycled material.
ECF – Elementally chlorine-free
Woodpulps bleached without the use of chlorine gas, a product found to cause toxins in pulp mill effluents.
TCF – Totally chlorine-free
Paper made from woodpulps bleached without the use of chlorine chemicals. That is, no chlorine gas or chlorine dioxide.
EMAS – The EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme
A voluntary environmental management system for companies and organisations. This standard requires public reporting on progress towards environmental targets, and rigorous environmental management.
ISO 14001 – International Environmental Management Standard
This specifies the actual requirements for an environmental management system. It applies to those environmental aspects over which the organisation has control and can be expected to influence.
An eco-label applied, in the main, to papers produced by Scandanavian integrated pulp and paper mills that have particularly low sulphur emissions.

Produced using 50% post consumer waste, this high quality stock is FCS Certified and has ISO14001 accreditation. Mega Recycled is manufactured at the Gohrsmuhle Mill, who have their own waste water treatment plant.
