Sustainable Green PrintKwik Kopy Brisbane has achieved a first for the Printing Industries Sustainable Green Print (SGP) program by becoming the first printer to achieve multi-site accreditation to SGP Level 2.

The independent multi-site audit process was carried out across Kwik Kopy Brisbane’s four sites by Compliance Australia Certification Services.

Kwik Kopy Brisbane operates in the inner Brisbane area at Fortitude Valley (offset printing), Brisbane CBD (which includes Queen Street for digital and design, and Ann Street for sales and small volume design and production) as well as Toowong (sales and small volume design and production).

Sustainable Green Print (SGP) is the Australian printing industry’s own recognisable certification program designed to help printing companies meet their environmental responsibilities and go above and beyond compliance.

SGP Level 2 steps up the environmental performance of a business.  It introduces additional levels of management and control including the tracking of waste streams and brings in a focus on your energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Ashley Petfield, Managing Director of Kwik Kopy Brisbane says Sustainable Green Print has given his four Centres the opportunity to measure and manage its environmental impacts through an environmental management system that is printing industry specific while being aligned with ISO14001.

“SGP Level 2 sets us up with an ISO-based environmental policy, management structure, procedures to address our legal requirements, measurement and benchmarking procedures for waste management across all of our sites, energy management and incident response procedures,” he said.

“Our close adherence to the international standard positions us well for future progression to SGP Level 3 and ISO14001 accreditation.”
