Books in Homes Australia
Kwik Kopy are the proud sponsors of the Books in Homes Australia Programme. Our donation allows the programme to be delivered to the kids at Nyikina Mangala Community School in Western Australia.
The Books in Homes Australia Programme was originally inspired by Maori author Mr Alan Duff who wrote the widely acclaimed book "Once Were Warriors". It was founded 13 years ago in New Zealand after realising that failures in adult life often stem from childhoods spent in homes without books or the ability to read.
The Books in Homes Australia Programme was founded on this principle in 2001.
The Foundation aims to help young disadvantaged children improve their reading skills; to help them develop and maintain a love for reading; which will ultimately broaden their opportunities later in life.
Through the Kwik Kopy sponsorship, the kids at Nyikina Mangala Community School have each received 9 new books each year they participate. The school also receives 144 new books for their library.
At Kwik Kopy we value the importance of literacy amongst disadvantaged Australians and are proud to support such a worthwhile charity.
