Complete all the details about your business including a description of what you do, opening hours etc and upload some great quality images and customer reviews.  Make sure you categorise your business properly so that Google understands your business (they will let pick up to 5 categories) to ensure customers get the right information about you and help your website show up in local searches.

  1. Encourage Customer Testimonials and Feedback

Even in the online world, we tend to rely on somebody elses word to let us know if a company is worth doing business with. Make a point of featuring customer testimonials on your website and also look for ways to make it easy for people to give you feedback. Include a customer feedback button on your website, try sending follow up emails with details of how a customer can leave a review complete with the relevant page link. You can also ask customers for reviews or offer incentives for providing feedback. Remember, once you open the doors for feedback you do open your business up to all types of reviews. If someone leaves a negative review, don’t shy away from the issue but use it as an opportunity to help solve a problem and let other customers and prospects see how proactive you are and that your business cares.

We can’t emphasise enough how important it is to understand your audience and create relevant content that meets their needs. To increase the chances of your brand ranking in searches, try to keep the text on each page focused around one specific topic than trying to cover lots of different ones. And remember, the more local you can get with your content the better it will be for business. Another way to link your website with the local area you’re targeting is to add links to local organisations and associations such as your local Chamber of Commerce.
